Bitmark had a blossoming on Poloniex. Poloniex is a cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in 2014 by Tristan D’Agosta. The exchange quickly became popular among cryptocurrency traders due to its wide range of altcoin trading pairs and advanced trading features.

One of the unique features of Poloniex was its «trollbox», a chat room where traders could discuss market trends and share information about various cryptocurrencies. However, the trollbox was also known for its sometimes-toxic environment, with users often engaging in trolling, spamming, and other negative behaviors.

To address this issue, Poloniex employed Bitmark in 2015. Bitmark enabled users to mark and reward comments in the trollbox that they found to be valuable or informative. Users could use their Bitmark points to «upvote» comments they liked, and the users who received the most upvotes would be featured in the «top contributors» section of the trollbox.

The use of Bitmark was seen as a way to encourage positive and constructive behavior in the trollbox, while also rewarding users who provided useful information or analysis. It was also seen as a way for Poloniex to differentiate itself from other cryptocurrency exchanges and build a sense of community among its users.

Sadly, the trollbox was eventually discontinued in 2018. Poloniex cited concerns about the quality of discussions in the trollbox, as well as the need to focus on other priorities such as regulatory compliance and security. Despite this, Poloniex remains a popular exchange among cryptocurrency traders, offering a wide range of trading pairs and advanced trading tools.

Bitmark (BTM) has been listed on several different other exchanges over the years, including Nova Exchange, QTrade.io, Cryptopia, and TradeSatoshi.

Nova Exchange was one of the earliest exchanges to list Bitmark, offering trading pairs with Bitcoin and Litecoin. However, Nova Exchange experienced financial difficulties in 2019 and ultimately shut down, leaving many users unable to withdraw their funds.

QTrade.io was another exchange that has listed Bitmark. QTrade.io was a smaller exchange that focuses on altcoins and offered a variety of trading pairs with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies. As a small exchange, it became too burdensome for QTrade to bear the governmental regulatory burden and shut down in early 2023

Cryptopia was a popular exchange that listed Bitmark and many other altcoins. However, Cryptopia was hacked in 2019, resulting in the loss of millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrencies. The exchange was eventually liquidated and has since been shut down.

TradeSatoshi is another exchange that has listed Bitmark, along with several other altcoins. TradeSatoshi is a smaller exchange that offers trading pairs with Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin.

It’s worth noting that Bitmark is not currently listed on any major cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken. This may make it more difficult for traders to buy and sell Bitmark, and may also make the cryptocurrency more susceptible to volatility and price fluctuations. As with any cryptocurrency, it’s important to do your own research and exercise caution when trading Bitmark or any other altcoin.

One way to acquire Bitmarks is to deposit any of the major cryptocurrencies at FreiExchange.com and then trade them for Bitmarks.
